Residents in the Englefield Green area have the opportunity to take part in a community craft project organised by Runnymede Borough Council.
Two taster printmaking workshops are taking place on Wednesdays 10 and 17 August from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Village Centre, Victoria Street, Englefield Green. The workshops are being led by Creative Communities artist, Andrew Morrison.
Participants will be able to learn new skills through different printing methods, allowing them to create images of or inspired by the Englefield Green area and its residents.
Creative Community artist, Andrew Morrison commented on the first session: “The Village Centre was the venue for the first open printmaking workshop in Englefield Green. Although the numbers of participants were small (we were competing with a Saturday
school Fete), a lively session ensued with people of wide-ranging ages and ability levels.
“With promises that participants would return and bring others and messages from some interested but unable to attend, we are hopeful that we can run successful and busy future sessions and hope to book further dates here over the Summer.”
These workshops are part of the ‘Making Surrey’ project, which is funded by Arts Partnership Surrey (a partnership of local authorities in Surrey) and Arts Council England. The project is jointly managed by Farnham Maltings and Tandridge Leisure Ltd.
All ages and abilities are welcome, though children must be accompanied by an adult.
