Calling young people to join the Herald & News Press Club

You can be our very own newshounds by sending in articles, jokes, photos, poems, stories and letters, which could be published in the paper or online.

We want all budding journalists out there to send in stories and photos about any subject they like, serious or funny.

Ideas include a report of a local sports match, a film or book, maybe you have the fastest hamster or the most talkative parrot, or perhaps you have a super gran you need to tell the world about.

We will publish a handful of the most interesting stories each week.

You could even ask your headteacher to set up a newspaper club at your school.

Simply send your articles to us by emailing ros.collins@trinitymirror.com or posting them to Herald & News Press Club, Stoke Mill, Woking Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 1QA.

Join the Herald & News Press Club and each year on your birthday, up to the age of 13, we will send you a birthday card with a voucher for a birthday treat.

Those celebrating their first birthday will receive a birthday card.

Members aged between two and five years inclusive receive a ticket to the children’s soft play area at Egham Leisure Centre while those aged from six to 13 years inclusive get a ticket to see a movie at the Ambassadors Cinemas, Woking.

We will announce your birthday on the Herald & News Press Club page, which features every Thursday in the Surrey Herald & News series.

You will also receive a membership card printed with your personal membership number.

Check out the Herald & News Press Club page every Thursday in your Surrey Herald & News for the chance to enter competitions and win exciting prizes such as DVDs, toys, games and family tickets to theme parks and children’s shows.

Membership of the Herald & News Press Club is free
