Twitter Silence for murdered Police Officers in GMP

Runnymede police officers and staff have joined their colleagues elsewhere in Surrey and across the country in support of a “Twitter Silence” as a mark of sympathy and respect to the two constables killed in a gun and grenade attack in the Greater Manchester Police area.

Only witness appeals will be posted on Twitter during the silence.

Greater Manchester Police chose to mark the funerals of the two officers in this way and local staff have chosen to show solidarity with this gesture.

I apologise if anyone has missed our regular updates but am sure you

will understand why we felt we had to be part of this event.

Officers from Surrey have travelled to be at the side of Manchester police during both funerals including the Surrey Police Chief Constable Lynne Owens.
