how to save money on energy

In a series of irregular items to help save us all a bob or two note this from Bill:

It is worth reminding people about how to save money on energy. Every little bit counts.

As most people have mobile phones now, it is probably worth removing the mobile home (DECT) phone and replacing it with a good old fashioned phone that does not need to be plugged into a power socket. Power to the phone is then powered by the telephone company and not you. The cost of leaving a number of the chargeable home phones on charge builds up over time, just like leaving TVs, radios etc in standby. Similarly, turn anything off that has a digital display – eg toaster, printer etc..

Purchasing eco power extensions are well worth investing in or getting free from the energy companies. Connect the tv, dvd player, sound system etc. to one of those and program it to turn off power when the tv is turned off, it will save you money.

It all adds up over the year, as I have discovered by watching my energy monitor supplied by EON.

Best
