Christmas and New Year household waste, recycling and food waste collections

via RBC Website

Runnymede Council is urging residents to check their recycling, food christmasrubbishwaste and rubbish collection calendar for changes to dates for their household waste or recycling over Christmas and New Year as some residents will be having their collections a few days earlier than their normal day.

Those who would normally have household waste and food waste collected on
Tuesday 25 December will have a collection on Saturday 22 December.

Other residents affected by changes to their collection dates are:

  • those who would normally have household waste and food waste collected on Wednesday 26 December will have a collection on Saturday 29 December
  • those who would normally have recycling and food waste collected on Tuesday 1 January 2013 will have a collection on Saturday 5 January 2013.

Runnymede’s Deputy Direct Services Manager, Cathy Knubley said: “The new service has meant that we are able to provide a service on most bank holidays throughout the year. The only days we will not be collecting waste and recycling is on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.  We want to ensure that all households are aware of the changes to the collection dates over this period so please check your calendars to make sure you know when to put your bins out. You can also check your collection days on our website using rCommunity.”
