Chertsey Meads litter pick a great success

Re blogged from RBC………..

Chertsey Meads Management Liaison Group in partnership with Runnymede Borough Council held their annual litter pick on Sunday 7 April 2013 and had a great turn out.

Runnymede Council’s Contracts and Open Spaces Officer, Chris Dulley said: “Around 25 The Chertsey Meads litter pickpeople turned up to volunteer their time to help keep Chertsey Meads a lovely open space to visit.  I think the spring sunshine helped the enthusiastic volunteers spend a good two hours finding and removing items from the undergrowth and the banks of the river Bourne.  Items found ranged from an old tyre, a rusting tractor wheel, a traffic bollard to a garden gnome!  Around 30 bags of litter and rubbish were filled that day as well as some bulkier items.”
