NO PARKING AT ANY TIME IN EGHAM HIGH STREET EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

images

Just want to let you know that from immediate effect there will be LOADING ONLY on both sides of the High Street, Egham, between the hours of 4pm and 11 am.

As the High Street is closed during the hours of 11am to 4pm that means there will be no parking at any time on either side of the street.

Regards,

Harri

From Bill – with his permission: Now what do you think?

    Hi Roger,

saw the blog on the Runnymede Residents website and have been watching the High Street situation with interest.

Without regular enforcement, there will be little change in the parking habits of drivers. The other day the High Street had no available loading bays, filled with unoccupied cars (shoppers?), so the Greggs lorry had to park on the Double Yellow lines on the corner at the end of the High Street, on the main road.

Obviously, when the RBC parking enforcement officer goes off-duty at the end of the working day, then the High Street will be full again.

Not sure what the cost/benefit is to enforce the parking restrictions and who would be responsible from 5pm to 8am?

If the road is now not to be used except for loading/unloading, surely the gates should be closed all the time, and legitimate usage be allowed as per the 11am to 4pm restriction?

Eliminate the 3 remaining parking bays or make them disabled only.

    My thoughts,

    Bill

PS, it is even more imperative to enforce the awful parking on and around the mini-roundabout by the Budgens shop.
