Volunteers needed for Runnymede Foodbank

RunnymedeFoodbanklogoThe Runnymede Foodbank is looking to arrange supermarket collections and the midway summer holiday pick up for the free school meal project.

They need two volunteers for each shift at the Waitrose stores so would be grateful if people could let Sam know asap if they can help out, and which date and shift they would prefer!!

Waitrose West Byfleet Saturday 14 September, 9am to 6pm: Shifts are 9am to 11am, 11am to 1pm, 1pm to 3pm, 3pm to 5pm, 5pm to 6.30pm ish (mainly taking in the last of the food)

Free School Meal project (this is where we are providing a bagged up lunch for Sayes Court and St Jude’s free school meal pupils)  Parent collection times and locations for their second three week pack of food.

Tuesday 13 August 10am to 1pm, Methodist church, Station Road, Addlestone

Around 10 volunteers are needed to be at the church with tea/coffee and cake and to have a chat with the parents about how things are, what issues they’re having, letting them know we are a church project and can/will pray for them.

Also volunteers are needed to bake a cake or two for each site to offer the parents etc as they arrive. Any leftover cake will be used for clients at the next foodbank opening so won’t be wasted!

You can volunteer as often as you like!!
