BBC SurreyOn Monday 7th October 2013 there was a public meeting in Chobham where residents discussed Surrey Heath Borough Councils ‘Site Allocations’ for Gypsies / Travellers.

I attended the meeting which had a very good turn out of around 100 residents which also included members of the Gypsies and Travellers community. As far as I am aware at the meeting held at Deepcut in February 2012 there was no representation from the Gypsies and Travellers community or at least they did not speak if there were.

The timing of Miriam Wakerly’s appearance on BBC Surrey yesterday morning (12th October 2013) was perfect.

Miriam talked to presenter Nick Wallace about some of the common things people say about Gypsies and Travellers.
