Watch stolen in Bonfire Night burglary in Chertsey

templateheaderimage11072012134248A £16,000 watch has been stolen in a burglary in Chertsey whilst residents were outside watching fireworks on Bonfire Night.


Thieves stole the gold Rolex and a Louis Vuitton handbag valued at £1,000 from a caravan in the Chertsey Bridge Road area sometime between 6.30pm and 6.40pm. They gained access to the unit, which is situated in a back garden, via a back window and made and untidy search of the caravan.

The stolen items are described as a white faced Rolex watch with an 18 carat yellow gold strap with concealed clasp and a brown domed bag. The watch was taken along with its box and relevant paperwork.

Detective Constable Suzy Marten investigating said: “The victims are understandably very upset and shaken by this incident which happened whilst they were close by enjoying their firework celebrations. I am appealing for anyone who has any information about the stolen items or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact Surrey Police and help officers bring the offenders to justice.
