Flooding Help & Support -Egham

We are aware that many people in the parish and part of the St John’s church family are affected by flooding from rising groundwater and the river Thames.

If you would like to help practically, you can get involved in the following ways:

1.       The Kitchen on Egham High Street will open between 10am and 4pm up until Sunday, as a place for chat, light snacks and hot drinks.  If you can volunteer to help, please ring the St John’s Flood Helpline on 07851 405930.

2.       Bring cakes, bread or cheese to the Kitchen during open hours.

3.       We are also going door to door to offer to help the people in our parish cut off by water, or in danger of being so.  If you can help, please come to the Kitchen on Egham High Street at 10am tomorrow morning (Thursday 13th).  You will need to wear wellies or waders and waterproofs.

4.       If you think you might be able to help in other ways, please email the church office or call the Flood Helpline and Veronica will contact you with requests for help.

5.       Monitor the St John’s website where Veronica will be posting other requests from the Flood Helpline.

If you are experiencing problems yourself with flooding, please contact the Flood Helpline 07851 405930 and we will endeavour to match you up with someone who can help you.

Thank you,
