Surrey couple get refund of over £5000 from finance company as their building work wasn’t up to standard!

There is fantastic consumer protection available if you pay for goods or services costing ATT00005more than £100 using a credit card or pay by means of a finance agreement that is arranged by the trader carrying out the work – legally known as a debtor-creditor-supplier agreement.

This protection comes in the shape of Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act and means that if something goes wrong with the work then it is legally possible to make a claim against the credit card company or finance company as well as, or instead of, the trader who carried it out.
