When it comes to flying, safety is number one.
AirlineRatings.com, which claims to be the world’s only safety and product rating website since 2013, listed the top ten safest airlines for 2015:
Topping the list is Australian airline Qantas, which has never had a fatality in the history of the airline.
The other airlines making the list are:
- Air New Zealand
- Cathay Pacific Airways
- British Airways
- Etihad Airways
- EVA Air
- Singapore Airlines
As you can see, absent from the list is American based airlines.
The ratings are based on audits from government airline regulators such as the FAA and ICAO (International Civil Avaiation Organziation), the airline’s fatality record, operational history, incident records and how they operate overall as an airline.
The top ten airlines are considered innovators in airline safety with a younger average fleet of planes.
