Robbery in Egham alleyway

A 20-year-old man was the victim of a knifepoint robbery on Wednesday (4 February) as he walked home down an alleyway on an Egham housing estate.

The offence happened when the victim was using the footpath to get from The Crescent to Ripley Avenue sometime between 9.45pm and just after 10pm. He was approached by two men, one of whom threatened him with a knife and demanded money and personal items. The pedestrian handed over £20 and the suspects made off with the cash towards The Crescent.

The suspects are described as two men, both aged around 25-years-old and with local accents. One offender is described as white, 5ft 8” tall and of a skinny build. He was wearing a black hoodie with a white Nike logo, black jogger and black Nike Air Max trainers.

The second offender is described as being of mixed parentage, with a tanned complexion, 5ft 10” tall and of an average to stocky build. He was wearing a grey Adidas hoodie with green stripes, light blue jeans and black Nike trainers.

Detective Constable Claire Langdon investigating said: “This was a frightening experience for the victim who was going about his everyday business making his way home after a night out. I would urge anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously in or around the vicinity of the incident, or who may recognise the description of the suspects to contact me as soon as possible. Surrey Police will not tolerate this type of violent offence and will do everything to identify the suspects and bring them to justice.”
