templateheaderimage11072012134248Surrey Police is appealing for help in tracing the owner of a safe which was found in the back of a stolen vehicle in Virginia Water.

The vehicle, a Land Rover, was found abandoned in Beechmont Avenue on May 11 and contained a black and yellow coloured safe, which does not belong to the vehicle’s owner.

The safe is rectangular in shape and is yellow with ‘Van Vault Outback’ written in black across the front.

The Land Rover was stolen from Horsham Road, Grafham between April 30 and May 1 and is due to be returned to its owner.

Investigating officer PC Donna Chandler said: “This is a distinctive safe because of its appearance and you would hope the owner is aware it is no longer in its normal place.

“I would also like to appeal to anyone who saw the Land Rover before it was abandoned in the area as we are investigating that it may have been used in criminal activity.”

Anyone with any information should contact Surrey Police by calling 101 or report it online at https://my.surrey.police.uk/splonlinereportingweb quoting the reference number 45150036348.

Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
