Help us identify this man.

Police in North Surrey have released a picture of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident involving a young girl in Walton town centre in the afternoon of Tuesday 7 July.

A 16-year-old girl was out shopping at around 3.40pm when she was approached by a man who tried to engage her in conversation. He started to follow her and at one point grabbed her arm and intimated that he wanted to go off to a park with her. The girl managed to get away from him and reported the incident to police.

The man is described as white, around 40-45 years old, quite short/skinny and had black hair. He was also carrying a black rucksack.

DS Andy Jenkins said: “Although the girl was not injured this was a particularly unpleasant incident and something that no one should have to experience. We are hoping that someone will recognise the person in the photograph so we can progress our inquiries and bring any offenders to justice.”

Anyone who has information about this incident should call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference 45150058702 immediately or the online reporting system at
