Police appeal for witnesses after cyclist collides with a lamp post in Addlestone

Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses following an incident resulting in a cyclist receiving serious head injuries in Addlestone on Saturday evening (11 July 2015).

The cyclist is believed to have collided with a lamp post at the pedestrian crossing outside Tesco in Station Road, Addlestone around 7-20pm.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were in attendance and the cyclist was flown to the Royal London Hospital where he remains in a critical condition with a fractured skull.

The cyclist, a local man in his 20s, is thought to be the only person involved in the incident. Police are appealing for anyone who has not already spoken to officers at the scene and may have witnessed the incident or events leading up to it, to make contact with the Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639922 quoting incident reference number P15180267.
