At around 10.30am on Sunday, 2 August officers received a number of reports from motorists regarding a silver vehicle travelling westbound on the M3 between junction 2 (Thorpe) and junction 3 (Lightwater).

Several drivers reported that they had been involved in minor collisions with the car which had then failed to stop.

Officers are carrying out an investigation to establish the circumstances leading up to the incident and are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the M3 between 10am and 10.40amon Sunday who was involved or witnessed the manner of driving of any of the vehicles to contact them.

Anyone with any information should contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting reference P15201135, or call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
