Runnymede electoral register 97.21% response

Runnymede BCEarlier this year 34,147 properties in Runnymede were initially canvassed to ensure that we have their correct data for the electoral register for the 2012 elections and 33,195 (97.21%) properties have responded.

Runnymede Chief Executive and Electoral Registration Officer, Paul Turrell said: “This is a great response from our residents.  This time round, there have been lots of ways to respond from the traditional postal returns to our automated telephone system, through our website and texting.  Responding to the registration forms is so important for residents if they want to have a say in who represents them in the borough.”

Of those properties that responded, 14,295 (41.86%) submitted revised information.

Despite receiving three forms through Royal Mail and visits from canvassers 952 (2.79%) properties did not respond at all.

There were 18,111 (53.04%) properties that sent forms back in the post, 7,602 (22.26%) properties responded using the automated telephone systems, 6,555 (19.20%) properties responded using the web and 927 (2.71%) properties responded via their mobile phones SMS.
